2007 April - Meeting at City Cigar in Vancouver

During this well-attended meeting, Gary B. Schrier of the Seattle Pipe Club took us on a 'world-tour' of the Calabash pipe--one of the all-time great smokeables--made famous by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes character. To illustrate his talk, Gary brought his exhibit of four framed panels containing 35 pipes, displaying the various makers and styles over the last 100 years. He also read a few passages from his book, The History of the Calabash Pipe. Hereby a few impressions, skilfully captured by Bas.
